PhSJ OBJECTIVES
- The goal of the Phonological Society of Japan is to contribute to the development of research in the field of phonology.
- All with an interest in phonology are welcome to join the society.

PhSJ ACTIVITIES
- Spring Meeting: once every year, usually in June, the previous day of a conference of the Linguistic Society of Japan.
- Phonology Forum: a 2-3 day meeting consisting of research papers presentations and lectures. Held once every year, usually in the second half of August.
- We also hold an annual general meeting usually at a Spring Meeting (a financial report of the previous year, an activity report of the previous year, and a activity planning of the current year).
- Publications:From 1997 onwards, the society publishes the journal Phonological Studies. The journal mainly contains papers presented at Spring Meeting and Phonology Forum.
(A volume with the title Phonological Theory: Theory and Practice (1996, Kaitakusha) was also published by the Phonology Research Group, the antecedent of the society.) - Other events or projects proposed by members.
